Dr. Sheikha Aisha Faleh Al-Thani

Founder & Chairperson

• Dr. Sheikha Aisha bint Faleh Al Thani is the Chairperson and Founder of the Company. She serves as a founding member of the board of patrons of the World Congress of Muslim Philanthropists.

• Previously, she was a member of the Qatar Supreme Education Council, appointed in 2006, serving two terms until 2014. She also served on the board of directors of Reach Out to Asia, a charity initiative which supports schools in Asian countries.

• Dr. Sheikha Aisha has a Bachelor in Education and a Bachelor in English Literature (with distinction) from QU. She also has a Master in Business Administration from the University of Hull in the United Kingdom. She thereafter received a PhD from Cass Business School in the United Kingdom in the area of Corporate Governance.

Sheikh Khalid Bin Nawaf Al Thani

Board Member

• Sheikh Khalid is the Deputy Chairperson of the Company and holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from Middlesex University.

• Sheikh Khalid additionally holds a Masters in Business Administration from the University of Hull.

• Sheikh Khalid has further earned the Investment Management Certificate (IMC).

Sheikh Mohammad bin Nawaf Al Thani

Board Member

• Sheikh Mohammad bin Nawaf Al Thani graduated from Britannia Royal Naval College in 2009 and served as an Officer in Qatar Navy and Army.

• In 2014, Sheikh Mohammad served as a board member of the Company where he was then appointed as a Deputy Chairperson in 2015 until February 2021.

Hussein Abdullah Ahmad Al Siddiqi

Board Member

• Hussein Al-Siddiqi has been the Chief Operations Officer of Nasser Bin Khaled Al Thani Holding since 2005. Mr. Siddiqi has been with Nasser Bin Khaled Group companies for over nineteen years, initially appointed as Group Administration Manager.

• He has been directly involved, and plays a major role, in optimising the operations of Nasser Bin Khaled Group. Mr. Al-Siddiqi received his Master’s degree at Washington University in 1990.

Rajesh Menon

Board Member

• Rajesh Menon is a senior strategist, business and professional services leader with deep leadership and management experience gained in high-growth Middle East markets.

• He held several leading roles with the most recent as Managing Partner of Beacon Consulting. He also worked as a Non-Executive Director FOR Springtime Global LLC,
Director at MPLFI HOLDCO LLC, as well as Advisor for Arthur D. Little, global consulting firm.

• Rajesh holds a Bachelor of Commerce and is a charted accountant in the Institute of Charted Accountants of India. He had also completed the Strategy and Leadership Programme in INSEAD, France.

Aisha Mohammed Al-Nasr

Board Member

• Aisha Al Nasr is a graduate of the Virginia Commonwealth University holding a Bachelor of Fine Arts as well as a Masters in Education from the University of Exeter.

• She had different marketing and events roles in Qatar Foundation leading her to hold the role of Executive Director of Marketing and Events.

• Al Nasr is an advocate for promoting the development of children with disabilities in an open and inclusive society where they could achieve their fullest potential and enhance their own capabilities, which led her to establish the Leo Kanner Center for Educational Therapy in 2019, which offers many services including psychological testing, applied behavioral analysis (ABA), speech and language therapy, and psychomotor therapy amongst others.
In 2019, Aisha also founded Care Nursing Services, an agency offering nursing services to clinics, nurseries, and home care.

• In addition to the above, Ms. Aisha partakes in many social and educational initiatives, all of which has shaped Ms. Aisha’s profile to be a female Qatari leader.

Sheikha Anwar Bint Nawaf Al Thani

Chief Executive Officer

• Sheikha Anwar is a graduate from the University of Minnesota with a Bachelor of Science in Management.

• From 2016 until 2018, Sheikha Anwar was named on the Deans list at the University of Minnesota for outstanding performance and academic excellence. She also completed her Master of Business Administration with commendation from the University of Aberdeen.

• Sheikha Anwar founded Little Panda’s Kindergarten, a learning institution offering early years foundation stage for students in Doha.

Tallal Al-Khalifa

Chief Financial Officer

Mr. Tallal has over 20 years of extensive experience in financial management, investment, business planning, performance measurement, capital market transactions, growth strategies and innovation, risk management, resource management, corporate governance, and operation efficiency management.

Prior to joining Al Faleh Educational Holding, Mr. Tallal occupied some managerial positions in large organisations, including Doha Bank (Q.P.S.C.), Integral Group Holding (IGH), and Al Jaber & Partners Group.

Mr. Tallal received his Bachelor’s degree in Economics and Administrative Sciences from Zarqa University and his Master of Business Administration (MBA) from AFG College with the University of Aberdeen. His credentials also include certifications such as CPA, CAA, and active membership in the CFA Institute, underscoring his commitment to professional excellence.

Brian Buckley

Director of Academic Affairs – Higher Education

• Brian is a senior higher education practitioner. His experience within the sector has spanned over 22 years and has been instrumental in developing national and international partnership agreements for the UK university sector. He was a senior board member of one of the UK’s largest independent providers of university education, which included strategic partnerships with the University of Hull and Plymouth University. He was the Executive Director of one of the largest London-based executive MBA programmes (EMBA) and was instrumental in introducing a leading EMBA Programme into Shanghai.

• He has extensive experience in public private partnerships and has worked closely with a leading UK based private equity firm in the field of independent higher education.

• Brian was an important figure in the formation of the partnership between AFG and the University of Aberdeen and currently holds the position of Principal of the Doha campus. He holds an MBA from the University of Hull and an MSc in European Politics from Birkbeck College, University of London.

Edward Cooper

Director of Academic Affairs – Primary and Secondary Education

• Edward is highly qualified educator with over 23 years of UK and international experience including head of primary, all-through school principal, project start-up, executive head, management advisor, teacher-trainer, external evaluator, education consultancy, and accreditation management.

• Having qualified as a Secondary Teacher of English & Drama in the UK in 1998, and headed a Drama department in London, he commenced his international career as a Head of English at Qatar International School in 2001.

• He has accumulated over 14 years of Headship experience in the UK, Qatar, UAE, and South America in both Primary and Secondary schools in the private and public sectors.

• In addition, Edward has worked as a teacher-trainer and management advisor across the Middle East / North-Africa (MENA) region. In 2013, he started voluntarily inspecting schools, working part-time for AdvancED/Cognia in the Americas, ISI in the UK, BSO and NEASC (as a Lead Inspector) internationally.

• Completing a full circle twenty years later, he joined Al Faleh Educational Holding as the Head of DA Salwa / Group Accreditation Manager in June 2021, supporting both Salwa and Al Waab to QNSA success earlier in the year and in July 2022 has been assigned as Doha Academy Principal / DIRECTOR OF ACADEMIC AFFAIRS – PRIMARY AND SECONDARY EDUCATION.

Michael Harris

Director of Strategic Communications

Michael has over 15 years of experience in the higher education sector, having worked with various British universities and higher educational institutions. He was a member of the senior strategic management team for GSM London (a private provider of higher education) for eight years working as Middle East Development Manager for that institution. This role involved forging links between education establishments, government agencies and industrial sector multinational organisations to deliver capacity building programmes to managers in the Gulf region. Michael has extensive knowledge of the region having worked with the embassies of UAE, Bahrain and Qatar developing cultural links in the areas of education, law and the arts.  Michael holds a University of London BA(Hons), the Graduate Diploma in Law (BPP University) and an MSc Strategic Management from the University of Wales.  Michael is currently Director of Strategic Communications & Public Affairs at AFG College with the University of Aberdeen.

Jad Hardan

Director of Information Technology

• Jad Hardan is the Director of Information Technology at Al Faleh Educational Holding. He holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) Degree from University of Roehampton in the United Kingdom as well as a Bachelor Degree in Information Technology and has more than 15 years of experience in the field.

• Jad provides leadership for the continued development of an innovative and secure IT environment and was part of the opening team of AFG College with the University of Aberdeen.

• Prior to joining Al Faleh Educational Holding, Jad worked as Projects Manager accredited for Oracle products. He has been the leader in more than 50 major hospitality projects in Qatar and the Middle East.

Hishaam Hendricks

Director of Operations

• Hishaam Niamatullah Hendricks graduated from the University of the Western Cape, South Africa, with a Bachelor’s degree in Arts and holds a postgraduate degree in Industrial and Organisational Psychology from the University of Cape Town, South Africa. He also registered as a psychometrist in 1991 with the South African Medical and Dental Council. He completed in 1993 a postgraduate Higher Diploma in Education from the University of the Western Cape.

• He joined Doha Academy as the Vice Principal in 2005 and has held many challenging positions during his tenure, the latter being Director of Operations.

• He is currently pursuing an MBA with the University of Hull.
