Doha Academy (Al-Waab) had the pleasure of inviting the Malaysian University delegation to their premises on 18th and 19th November 2019, in order to provide students from Year 10 to Year 12 useful and alternative pathways for higher education. Doha Academy prides itself on offering pupils a chance to broaden their horizons and the chance to meet the Malaysian Universities face to face was a perfect opportunity to do so.
10 Malaysian Universities were able to provide a detailed account of the career pathways that they offered and imparted some valuable information about fees, scholarship and accommodation to the students. The delegation included the following:

The delegation was kind enough to meet the boys and girls on separate days, allowing students from various nationalities enough time to meet, greet and ask questions. Mr. Graeme M. Garrett, the school principal was in attendance on both days of the event, along with the Vice Principal Mr. Shane Foley. Various teachers were also present during this event and were keen to gather useful information for their students too.
Mr. Garret was delighted to have the Malaysian delegation visit the school and stated ‘The visit of the Malaysian delegation provided our students and staff with an excellent insight into the Further Educational opportunities available in Malaysia. It was particularly pleasing to see the number of Universities represented and the breadth of courses on offer. Students from the Doha Academy attend Malaysian universities and we received extremely positive feedback regarding their performance. ‘
The visit of the Malaysian Universities to Doha Academy, is one of the many career advisory opportunities the high school students are offered. Visits to Texas A&M, University of Aberdeen, Georgetown University and University Expo are just of the few events students have already attended so far, this academic year.
It is not the first time the Malaysian University delegation has visited the premises of Doha Academy (Al-Waab), and the school hopes for more visits in the future.
