AFG College with the University of Aberdeen Hold LLM workshop

AFG College with the University of Aberdeen held a workshop aimed at exploring the intracicies of the United Nations Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Good (CISG).
The workshop, which was held at AFG’s campus in Doha, brought together a number of students, lawyers, academics and potential applicants, as well as those already working in the legal profession to hear from competent legal professionals.
The focus of the event was to examine the CISG, which is considered to be one of the most important international instruments governing the sale of goods. The presentation by the University of Aberdeen’s Dr Nevena Juvremovic began with an overview of the CISG and its key provisions. In her speech Dr Juvremovic spoke of the important role that the CISG plays in the facilitation of international trade and how it helps in the promotion of legal certainties.
Participants at the event were also able to engage with LLM Programme Leader, Gianluca Andresani on their experiences and insights on IT Law and Regulation and Online Intermediaries Liability, as well as hearing from their peers in this interactive session.
AFG College with the University of Aberdeen’s Gianluca Andresani said “ We had a spectacular turnout for this event, from students and the legal community here in Qatar. Dr Juvremovic’s presentation offered a real insight into the complexities of working across national borders, as well as how the CISG interplays with the UN sustainable development goals. I hope that we will continue to attract renowned legal scholars who are able to offer expert analysis on such important legal issues.”
AFG College with the University of Aberdeen plans to organize similar events in the future, with a focus on offering stakeholders the opportunity to grasp the latest insight and analysis on pertinent legal issues and fostering a greater connectiveness across the legal community, here in Doha.
